Happiness/Sadness

We've been having a blast this week. Honeysuckle beach has been our second "home". We've gone three out of the four days so far, just swimming and hangout with our friends the Iasaksens. Kaylei has become quite the little swimmer.
Today after spending a few hours at the beach we headed home to get the girls ready for their Acivity Days night. I had Lexi to do her chore of emptying the dishwasher. No big deal there until, from out of the corner of my eye, I saw that she was trying to put a very sharp knife on a shelf that was just out of her reach. Before I could say "Lexi I'll help...." the knife had slipped out of her hand. On it's way down it caught two of her fingers. The cut wasn't very big but it had taken a little chunk out of her finger. Enough to where I could see the fleshy fat inside. Yeah, it was kinda gross. So, I took her in and she ended up with two little sutures in her pinky finger. She was sooooo brave!! After the visit to the doc, she insisted that she still go to her activity. She'll have the stitches removed on Tuesday.

Time for a change!

This hair of mine started driving me crazy! So I went and got it chopped off.
I love it. The cut was a welcome and refreshing change.
I found out my hair has a lot of natural wave to it. I can get lots of different
looks with this style and it's still long enough to put into a ponytail.
the hairdresser also thinned it out.
Now my ponytail is more "normal" in thickness.
Thanks Renee!

Rob's surgery

Last Friday Rob was finally able to get his knee surgery done. We were told to be at the hospital two hours before the surgery started so I had plenty of time to tease Rob. He was given the ever flattering hospital gown to wear as well as a sexy pressure stocking. The surgery itself took only 45 minutes and went well. He's still a bit uncomfortable but healing well.
Last night I decided that Rob needed a little "pick-me-up". That's when the idea of a pedicure popped into my fiendish brain. This is the end result.......
Let me just say that Rob cannot wait to be back on his feet again!

Visiting with relatives

This past week we loaded up the sub and headed to Oregon. Unfotunately we aren't going to be able to attend the Ward family reunion due to Rob's knee surgery, so the kiddos and I went down for a few days. The weather was very hot(105) and very humid. On the day we arrived we went to the local aquatic center to cool off for a bit.

The next day we went to Beverly beach with Nana,Grandpa, Aunt Meri and Dan &Tiff with their kids to camp for a night. We stopped at Gleneden beach to eat lunch and play for a bit.

Later we set up camp. After dinner, Lexi organized a "variety show". NAna told us one of

her stories, Uncle Jake (who arrived a little later) did magic tricks,

Cody made silly faces and pretended to go fishing,

Aunt Meri did an ethnic dance, Emily gave us her version of Goldie Locks, Jessi told jokes, and

Aunt Tif with the help of Jessi, Kaylei, Emily and Kyra did an interprative dance. Tif,Jessi and KK were the waves. Emily was a starfish and Kyra was an octopus. Here are some pics of the rest of the camping trip.

Hayden Days Parade

The kiddos and I decided to watch the parade for our little town of Hayden. As we were eating donuts, we were approached a man. He said he saw us setting up our chairs and thought that maybe the kids would like to be in the parade.
Of course they were thrilled at the idea so we loaded up onto his trailer. We got to sit on hay bales and wave to all the parade watchers.

They had fun waving and giving thumbs up. Afterwards we went for slurpees to help cool us down.
