pinewood derby

Last Thursday we went to Cody's blue and gold/pinewood derby. We had yummy spaghetti, salad and french bread. Then the races began.
There were some pretty cool cars! Cody's is the red ,white and blue car.
His car had to be in a tie breaker race for third place. It was having problems with the wheels and started slowing down but it was fun to watch all the boys. According to the kids the best part was dessert...

Quick trip

This past Friday Alexis, Emmy,Spencer and I loaded up and headed to Oregon for the weekend. We spent Friday and Saturday nights at Aunt Meri's house. After being in the car for seven hours the kids were pretty wound up.(Alexis is the photographer for the car pics)
Uncle Jake initiated a pillow fight .......
.......by the time we got everyone settled down and in bed it was midnight. Saturday morning I got my hair trimmed up(finally), Uncle Jake left to work on his truck, and a little while later we headed over to Aunt Amanda's for Marli's babyshower. Lexi, Spence and Em got to go to a park with Uncle Brant,Grandpa Steve and Uncle Dan during the shower. Here's baby Marli looking absolutely adorable!
And her beautiful mommy Amanda.
After the shower we went to Brant and Amanda's to visit for a bit. Lexi and Emmy had a chance to hold their little cousin.

When we were done visiting, Meri the kids and I headed to Red Robin for dinner. It was very yummy! Uncle Jake joined us and we had the employees sing happy birthday to Lexi &Jake. Then we headed back to Meri's to watch a movie and chill. Everyone was tuckered out, even Meri and Jake....

Sunday we went church with Meri and Jake then went to Nana's house. Dan,Tif and the sister missionaries joined us for dinner.

We had a great visit and are very excited for our return trip in a few weeks for Marli's blessing.

Lexi's party

Lexi's birthday is this week. She is going to be the big 8! Yesterday we had her party. Our first game was spoons. I love this game just for the fact that it's easy to learn. There aren't any "losers" or "winners". The girls picked it up quickly and had a blast. They had a great instructor(thanks Jessi).

Next we pinned the star on the wand. The girls had fun spinning each other.
Here's the part they'd been waiting for....decorating their cupcakes.

We played a few more games, opened gifts and decorated another cupcake to take home.

Happy Birthday Alexis!

Hives.....

Last Friday night we noticed that Spencer had some spots on his arms and stomach. At first we thought chickenpox but he's been immunized for those,so we figured they were probably hives. On Saturday morning the few spots had become big patches of swollen redness.
By the afternoon he had gotten a couple under his right eye. As I sat helpless trying to figure out what else to do for him, i was watching the two spots get bigger and merge into one big spot that resembled a blister. His little feet and hands were extremely swollen. He did'nt want to walk because his feet hurt.
Later that evening I took him to the ER because the benedryl wasn't helping at all. He was given a shot of epinephrine and a script for some orapred(steroids) to help with the swelling. By Sunday afternoon he was felling a little better. After we gave him the orapred and some benedryl , the little guy slept for 16 hours! Spencer had some blood drawn today for allergy tests. We should have results in a few days.
