Jack-O-Lanterns

Yesterday we were finally able to carve our pumpkins. Emmy helped by sitiing in Dad's lap.
Cody surprised us by not only scraping out his pumkin but helping emily with hers too. While everyone else was busy carving, Jessi sat around pulling faces at us.

Alexis did a little bit herself. Then Dad had to take over. I think he ended up carving four or five besides his own. Rob says that next year if they can't carve it themselves they don't get a pumpkin. What a partypooper!

Here are the finished produscts.

The puking pumpkin is Rob's. He's got a twisted mind:)

Green Bluff

Last Saturday we went on a family fieldtrip to Harvest House. We found some of the cutest goblins.

Some how I talked us into pony rides. It's really hard to say "no" with four little faces looking up at me with big grins and Spencer saying "Ride horse, pleeeaaassse mommy?".

Of course there was the hayride out to the pumpkin patch.

Jessica, being quite stubborn, decided that she was too good to look for a pumpkin with the rest of us. Dad and Cody with their pumpkins.

Emily and Spence decided to pull the wagon back to the hayride. Only they didn't have enough muscle to move it even an inch. They gave it their best though!

We had a blast :)

Busy Busy

This week we have spent decluttering our life. Well mostly the garage. We can now park both rigs in it. Yay! Now we have to go through everything we brought in to the house. This week has also been filled with emotion as we have spent the last few days waiting for Rob's brother to return home from Iraq. We got the word this morning that he is home safe and sound. It has been a long haul for his wife and kids over the past year. But they are together again and enjoying every minute of the joyful reunion.

Culture

Last Saturday Jessi and I had a mother/daughter night. We went to a performance of the Coeur d'Alene Orchestral Symphony. It was a wonderful evening of knowledge and entertainment. They had a BLack and White Tea party for the fifth grade students where they were taught proper table manners. Then they had a "petting zoo" of the different types of instuments in an orchestral symphony. Then we had the performance. It was absolutely wonderful:)

District meet

Jessica, Alexis and Kaylei had their final meet for cross country yesterday. The weather was cold and very windy. Thankfully it didn't rain too. The girls were very excited for the big race. The races were done by grades, boys run first then the girls.
Kaylei was so excited that when the horn blew she took off with the boys. She ran a good race and came in eighth with the boys. She had a great time and wants to do it again next year. I am very proud of the three of them for seeing it thru to the end.

X-Country

Jessica, Lexi, and Kaylei are participating in cross country this year. Last Thursday their school had a competition for the grades. Kaylei took second in the Kindergarten race. She probably would have had first if she hadn't stopped for a drink. Jessica and Lexi got participation ribbons also.
