Adventures in swimming

Today the kids and I met up with some friends at the beach. I think we'd been there about twenty minutes when some poop( or human feces) had been discovered in the water. The lifeguards removed the poo from the water then tried to rope off half of the swimming area. They gave up on the rope and just verbally urged swimmers to not swim in the north half. A few minutes later a big black cloud rolled in. We heard thunder and then another announcement telling swimmers that lightning had been spotted and everyone was to get out of the lake until further notice. Well, that's when we decided to pack up and head home. Isn't life fun?

Dance Recital

Emmy, Lexi and Kaylei had their ballet recital at the Riverpoint Park amphitheatre. There were lots of little girls in tutus!

It started with a parade, marching to a song about a parade in a grocery store then the individual classes did a short performance. Unfortunately I can't seem to figure out the video thing. To say the least, the girls had fun and enjoyed the class. KK has opted to not to continue in the fall but Lexi and Emmy both will:)

Camping with the Ravens

This may be picture overload but we had a great time! Our family went camping for a couple days with Rob's sis and her kiddos. Farragut state park was a nice campground, complete with showers, a playground and a nice swimming area.
Sunday night it started to rain and continued through the next morning. Thankfully Lexi had brought her High School Musical umbrella.

Here we have Lexi and her cousin Miranda on the left
and Spencer getting caught snitching bacon.

pics of Cody, Miranda and KK taken by each other.....

Happy 4th of July!

On the fourth we had planned to go to Lake Coeur d'Alene, swim, eat fried chicken and watch the awesome fireworks show that they have every year( some 30+ thousand people were expected for the show). Well, when we got downtown, it was madness! The city had closed off all public access so that you had to park in the payed parking lots, which were completely full. So after driving around for fourty five minutes we decided to go to Honeysuckle beach. It's about a ten minute drive from our house. When we arrived there were some people there but it wasn't overly crowded like the CDA Lake. Our kids and their cousins went swimming, built sandcastles and we had some yummy fried chicken for dinner.

A fireboat was on the lake, spraying water and showing their stuff. I took a couple kids out on the docks and the boat pulled up. The firemen asked if the kids would like to go on board and check the boat out. It was so cool!

After the boat, we set up our chairs on the dock and watched a good fireworks display on the lake:)
